The Tulsa World reported that Captain Paul Fields has been suspended without pay for two weeks for not attending a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day hosted by the Islamic Society of Tulsa.
“This is a purely a political ploy,” states Pastor Paul Blair, Executive Director for Reclaiming America for Christ.  “If the Islamic Society of Tulsa really respects the integrity and supremacy of the Constitution they should insist that no disciplinary actions be taken against Captain Fields for exercising his First Amendment Rights.  We have a Hometown Heroes Day every December at my church and invite members of the police department, sheriff’s office, fire department, EMSA and National Guard.  We don’t take roll.  Whoever wants to attend can come.  We don’t call the chief of police and insist that they attend or complain if they don’t.”

The Islamic Society of Tulsa is a part of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) which was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2007-08 Holy Land Foundation Trials (HLF).   The Holy Land Foundation trial was the largest terror financing case ever in U.S. history.  The United States Department of Justice introduced evidence in those trials directly linking the Islamic Society of North America (most mosques), the North American Islamic Trust (holds property titles to many mosques and Islamic university student centers), and the Council on American Islamic Relations (public relations) with Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

On April 15, 2011, U.S. Representative Peter King sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, asking why these other organizations have not been prosecuted.

“I write to inquire about your decision not to prosecute the 246 individuals and organizations named as unindicted co-conspirators in a Hamas terror finance case, United States v. Holy Land Foundation.  I have been reliably informed that the decision not to seek indictments of …CAIR,…ISNA, and NAIT, was usurped by high ranking officials at Department of Justice Headquarters over the vehement and stated objections of special agents and supervisors of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as the prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Dallas…”

CAIR, ISNA and NAIT made a motion to have their names removed from the list of unindicted co-conspirators which was rejected by U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis, on July 1, 2009.  Solis stated, “…the Court declines to strike CAIR, ISNA, and NAIT’s names from those documents.  The Government produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA and NAIT with…Hamas.”

Regarding the suspension of Captain Fields, Pastor Blair said, “This is political correctness run amok to our own peril.”
